BBC News School Report

Students took part in planning and delivering a four-minute bulletin with the support and guidance of members of the BBC Sport news broadcast team.
They worked so maturely and used a range of skills which produced a successful and professional standard report which will be shown on the BBC website and BBC Red Button. We are so proud of them!

As you may be aware, Jodie Whalley, Denise Kelly and Nicola Daley took the Year 9 Media Group to MediaCityUK for the BBC Schools News Report day, celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the scheme.

In only our first year as part of the scheme, here is the BBC Sport news bulletin that pupils were selected to broadcast (in the middle of the BBC Sports Centre, surrounded by a normal day at the office!) They went Live just 5 minutes after a professional had done their piece!

Samuel Moorhouse, Adam Boote, Raees Rashid and Rio McIntosh chose their items, researched the facts using some write-ups from other journalists and developed their own script to be broadcast as well as featuring on the live feed and the twitter page @BBCSchoolReport. You can find the bulletin here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schoolreport/35777704
